​Individual Therapy Defined: 

 

Individual Therapy also known as talk therapy or counseling services is a one-on-one session with a therapist to explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to work towards increased self-awareness, life style-balance, and personal growth. Each individuals unique needs are considered to help develop personalized treatment goals. A client and therapist will collaborate on identifying concerns or problems to set goal and develop strategies to create change and growth.

Processing and Understanding Emotions:  Foster a deeper understanding and acceptance of oneself. Explore feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and motivations with curiosity.

  • Emotional Processing: Exploring past experiences, stressful events, or and traumas to increase insight, decrease anxiety when thinking about past events, and promote healing. 

  • Mindfulness: Practice and develop mindfulness techniques to increase ability to be present in the moment. Mindfulness practice can help increase overall management and understanding of emotions, behaviors, thoughts, and motivations. 

Develop Coping Skills: 

  • Coping Skills: Develop a variety of healthy tools that genuinely help meet your own unique needs to help manage difficult situations and stressful life events. There are so many coping skill options, you are your therapist can explore what ones feel right, work for you, and apply to your life-style. 

  • Conflict Resolution: To help navigate interpersonal relationships more effectivity explore and develop healthy communication and conflict styles. 

  • Stress Management: Practice techniques such as mindfulness activities, relaxation exercises, and or problems solving techniques to help manage stress and anxiety. 

  • Decision-Making: Explore strategies to aid in making decisions that align with your values and priorities. Develop a healthier relationship with your intuition while achieving personal goals.

  • Improved Communication: Working on developing clear, assertive, and empathetic communication skills.
